Kenneth Larssen is inspired by "La tienda de Animalhombres del señor Larsen". By that time I was creating some monster concepts related to the emotions of some of my characters, just for fun, then at the college one of our teachers send us this book to read and I was there... staring at it because "Larssen" is the surname of Johan, Soren and the others. I start to read it and find things in common with the monster concepts so... I decided to create a "Mr. Larssen" but in another different way.

I only think abous Mr. Larssen as an old man, but I wanted to do something with his stories and then I was thinking about the past of the character, he can travel to that kind of "emotional dimension" and then repeat his life when he reach at a dead point... Is a lot more complex that I think, but at the way of thinking about him I start to create a personality and a story that I wanted to share and develop.

Kenneth is highly related to the story of Johan Larssen, one of my favorite characters, so it was very important to me make him kinda alike to his grandson, a little "lady-killer" and confident. Kenneth is a funny character with a great personality who loves to write and share his stories, is full of dreams and amazing worlds and creatures, empathic and kind...

Things get a little different with time...

I loved that confident look... but I don't want to make more buff and muscular characters... also, this guy actually did any exercise... I left him at this point...

I tried to draw him more detailed one day... well... one night and at this point I gave him a warmest look. Johan remembers him grandpa' as someone gentle and cheerfull who when he was little, tells him a lot of amazing stories and shows him a beautiful world.

Larssen family is inspired at all the danish traditions, they are supose to be nice and friendly people, fun and jokers... the story for all of them doesn't went well at the end, but that's another tale...

It has been very fun to see how my friends sees Kenneth as Johan or a kind of "crack baby" of him and his actual partner.

Johan and Kenneth are very expressive characters, but at this point Kenneth gets another way far of the "lady-killer". Johan has a very strong character, is honest, intelligent, talks A LOT a little agressive sometimes and has a very dirty humor, but is at the same time very gentle and lovely...

Kenneth gets a little "clumsy" I wanted to see him at his more vulnerable face, someone who doesn't born privileged, but doesn't have exactly a bad time at his youngest ages. A dreamer, someone who loves to read and write and talk with people even if he seems himself "little" at comparison with the others.

This first expression sheet tries to make an approach of it, before he learns more about his abilities...

It past a very long time before I draw him again, but someday just his story start to make sense. What about if he, at the past, at one of his lifes, could knew that at the future things will get at the wrong way... and there is a kind of energy that just gets bigger and bigger life after life... just to make your story get the bad end...

He wants to save his family but... he is not a hero, he is just a story teller, he doesn't know how to fight this...

I want to start moving his story this year and... this is the begining of a big project, the final character design...
